Badwell Ash Winch Challenge

The overall winners of the Badwell Ash winch challenge held by the SLROC on the 13 January 2008 were David Cowlin and Mark Ingram. There was a good field of entrants that arrived on a dry but murky morning in the disused quarry. The terrain was varied but the wet conditions underfoot didn't change. A good day was had by all who came to compete and spectate and the marshals did a wonderful job of running the event. Last years winners unfortunately had to retire with power steering problems and other competitors were stuck on the A12 after an accident closed the road and they couldn’t make it. Fortunately Dave and Mark had added their latest addition to the truck, a mid mounted winch in the week leading up to the event. Lucky they were as they needed it on one of the later stages to up right themselves. The excuse used was to see if it was going to work or not.
